College Admissions Consulting

Our process breaks down the mountain of work required into manageable chunks that help students feel empowered instead of overwhelmed. Consulting packages include a combination of the following services.

Core Services

  • Target College List: Created based on academic and cultural fit, student/family goals, programs of interest, size, geography, and other considerations unique to the student.
  • Recommender Selection: Guidance in identifying the best candidates for recommendations and the ‘right’ way to ask for one.
  • Common Application Essay Support: Complete guidance and support in writing the Common App Essay from brainstorming to final submission.
  • Supplemental Essay Support: Complete guidance and support in writing supplemental essays for individual schools.
  • End-to-end Application Review: Ensures every field on Common Application, Coalition, or Direct-to-School application is reviewed prior to submission.
  • Parent Hours: To be used at parent’s discretion - ask questions, learn the process, or bounce an idea. We’re here to support you, too!

Premium Services

  • Academic Resume Creation: Creation of a comprehensive, academic resume to submit to schools.
  • Application Submission Support: IEC walks student through the submission process to ensure every application is delivered correctly.
  • Senior Year Class Selection: Assist students in selecting the best classes to support their long-term goals.
  • You Science™ Aptitude & Career/Major Discovery: Connects a student’s natural talent and aptitudes to school, major, and career selection.
  • Standardized Test Prep Coaching: An intensive, three-month coaching process to prepare students for the unique challenge of the SAT or ACT.
  • Monthly Check-Ins: Monthly sessions held to work through the YouScience™ discovery assessment output and other topics as needed.
  • Activity Guidance: Review of student’s activities with specific suggestions as to where they can strengthen their resume.
  • Interview Preparation: Ensures students are prepared to present themselves in an authentic manner while demonstrating poise, professionalism, and confidence.

Standardized Test Prep Coaching

The Standardized Test Prep Coaching program is an intensive three-month course that builds the skills students need to conquer the challenge of standardized testing.

Month 1 - The Mastery Phase

In this phase, our goal is to introduce the student to the test, the sections, and the questions. You'd be surprised how important that is! It's also a time where we get to know the student and work to earn their trust.

Month 2 - The Pacing Phase

To do well on a timed exam, you need to practice being timed! We work on that skill from month 2 until the exam. Being timed doesn't necessarily mean being fast. It's about managing your time well.

Month 3 - The Endurance Phase

One of the hardest things in standardized testing is how long they are, and like the pacing section, the only way to prepare for endurance is to practice. So, students take practice tests and we collectively review the results.

We can’t always promise that your child will get the score that they want, but we CAN promise that on testing day they will…
